Watermoor Church of England Primary School has a governing body to ensure that it has the capacity to improve and raise standards. Ofsted consider the governing body to be part of the leadership of the school. However, governors do not manage the school – that is the job of the head teacher.
Governors are there to be a ‘critical friend’ to the head teacher and the school. They do this by :
The current governing body is :

Parent governors are nominated and voted onto the governing body by parents and carers within the school community. Co-opted governors and associate members (who are non voting) are appointed by the governing body as they bring a particular skill or experience.
The Governing Body at Watermoor Church of England Primary School was reconstituted In November 2019.
All co-opted governors will serve a two year term and all other governors will serve a four year term. At the end of that term governors can choose to stand again for that post. It should be noted that governors can resign their post whenever they wish.
At the start of all full governing body meetings, governors are required to declare any information that may cause a conflict of interest or a pecuniary gain, through their role. There are currently no registered pecuniary interests.
